Looking to develop your artistic skills as well as your acrobatic chops? Make sure to drop by the Cirque du Soleil Alegria fun zone! Come meet the Alegria Street Team & take part in a Cirque arts workshop or simply relax in our coloring corner. Amazement awaits!

Beloved by fans around the world, iconic Alegría is reinterpreted to share its timeless story once more. Alegría energizes the audience with acrobatic acts set on a powerful score, in an evocative imaginary universe. Alegria will be playing from August 1st to September 1st, under the big top at the Zibi Site.

We are very excited to be partnering with Nature Canada this year to help celebrate World Migratory Bird Day on Saturday, May 11. Come out and learn about spring migration and some of the obstacles birds encounter when they travel the long distances to nest here in Canada. Nature Canada will lead nature walks where you will discover local birds and explore nearby nature in your NatureHood. Maze of Discovery

Let your imagination run wild with chance encounters in the Maze of Discovery! Around every corner is a potential new adventure! Will you meet a character? A challenge that you’ll need to complete? Or an outline of your own story that you can follow throughout the maze? This is a wonderful, creative opportunity for young ones to imagine any and all possibilities of “what’s around the next corner” in this safe and fun environment.

Pedalheads Bike Camps (May 11-12)

Pedalheads makes learning about bike safety fun!  Visit them for crafts, activities, and prizes.  And don’t forget to bring your smile to their photo booth.

Alice in Funderland Tea Party

Join Alice and a cast of crazy characters and puppets for an off-the-wall tea party.  Magic, puppetry and comedy combine for an interactive experience that the kids won't soon forget!


Let's Talk Science

Let’s Talk Science in Ottawa (uOttawa and Carleton University) will be bringing some of their amazing workshops to the Ottawa Children’s Festival. Their workshops contain themed activities with adaptations to meet the Ontario curriculum for different grades and encourage a love of nature and being outdoors. Two workshops per day will be available.
