OCF Favourite Family Movies

Sound of Music

The kids all know this is Mom's favorite movie.  They love it too.  Whenever there is a special occasion that's my own, my birthday or Mother's Day, they will always pull this out and we'll watch it together.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

Dick Van Dyke is so perfect in this movie.  Who doesn't love this classic?  It's a bit of a crazy story but the songs and dancing really make it work.

Goonies

If you haven't watched this with your kids yet you absolutely must!  It's a great adventure story about working together and fitting in.  We pull this one out a few times a year.

Horton Hears a Who

Jim Carrey lends his voice to this wonderful Dr. Seuss tale.  But you'll also recognize Steve Carell, Carol Burnett and a host of others.  The animation is spot on.

Mary Poppins

This original movie is so much better than the recent sequel.  Another childhood favourite of mine that my kids also love.  Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke.  Need I say more?

Paddington

I loved the old Paddington Bear tv series with the stop motion animation.  This movie is just as charming

Rio

I love how the little macaw dances around in Rio.  A great film, full of suspense, love and laughter.

Shrek

The first movie in a string of them - but this one is the best.  Mike Meyers plays Shrek and his accent is so perfect.  You'll also recognize the voices of Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz and John Lithgow.

WALL●E

You can't help but love this little robot and his fight for the greater good.  This is a feel good movie with a good story on pollution and the environment.
