2013 Festival to run from May 28 to June 2
Save the dates! From May 28-June 2, 2013, the Ottawa International Children’s Festival returns with another awe-inspiring season of performing arts for young people at Lebreton Flats Park and the Canadian War Museum. For more than 27 years the Festival has hosted a five-day extravaganza of award-winning and eye-opening theatre, dance and music performances from around the world and in 2013 we carry on the tradition!
If you’ve brought your class or child to the Children’s Festival before, then you already know what a wild and imaginative time awaits and we look forward to welcoming you back. If it’s your first time exploring the Festival as an option for your class, don’t take our word for it. Here’s what your colleagues say about this exciting and inspiring experience:
“The Ottawa Children’s Festival is an activity that we look forward to attending each year. Coming from Sarnia, we are never disappointed and always refreshed by the international acts that don’t just entertain but motivate the students to develop new abilities and qualities in their respective domains.”– Mark Phillips, Teacher and SHSM Coordinator, Ecole secondaire Saint-Francois-Xavier, Sarnia.
“I attended the circus workshop along with 40 students from Lady Evelyn Alternative School. I want to commend you for an amazing event. [The instructors] not only taught the children introductory circus “tricks” but also respect for others, perseverance and listening. Thanks for a great day.” -Dr. Denise Landry.
“We had a lovely time at the festival. The kids enjoyed the shows and your reception is always greatly appreciated, always very accommodating and well organized. We will attend the festival next year! Good job and thanks!” – Suzanne Piquette-Lachapelle Ecole Elementaire Catholique Marius Barbeau
We take great time and care to ensure we present a diverse lineup of programming, guaranteed to challenge your students’ imaginations no matter their grade level. Please check our website in late October to see our complete lineup of shows and free on-site activities for 2013.
