Silly People

Kids and kids at heart come explore the wonderful world of circus in hands-on workshops. You’ll be led by experts to learn a variety of circus art forms such as juggling, diabolo, flower stick manipulation and poi.

Together: An Exhibition

The bilingual exhibition is housed in a 53-foot double-expandable vehicle (approximately 1,000 square feet). The exhibition will inspire visitors to explore solutions to improving quality of life in the developing world. People will leave the exhibit not only with a better understanding of global development but also with examples of the ways in which they can build on their own skills and interests to take action.

Junkyard Symphony

Junkyard Symphony strives to promote environmental health and awareness through extraordinary entertainment using objects that would otherwise be destined for the dump. To Junkyard Symphony, however, these objects are treasures! Be prepared for a radical ride of rapid rhythms, and plenty of participation. Junkyard Symphony has been entertaining since the summer of 1992, and has traveled from Halifax to Hong Kong their environmental message, to….Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Rock!

Little Witch Press

The Witches of Little Witch Press—Susan J. Atkinson and Elizabeth Todd Doyle—fly into community events and classrooms, bringing fun, cheer, a little mayhem, and a whole lot of positive messages about “just being yourself.” They offer workshops on story and character development, and mini-courses on the interrelationship between text and illustration for children K-4.

Scientists in School

Arts and science are separated in modern thinking as if they were different things. But artists have been some of the best scientists throughout history. Think about the chemistry of pigments in renaissance painting, the engineering required for remarkable architecture, or the empirical study in the making of a musical instrument. 8th Generation

8thGeneration Storytelling is an Ottawa based storytelling company that uses the art of oral tradition as a tool for transforming and inspiring lives. In each performance, the audience participates in the telling of stories by using, song, dance, music and rhythmic beats. Aiding in the development of multiple literacy, memory, team building, confidence, imagination, culture awareness, retelling, reflecting and relating.

Long and McQuade Instrument Petting Zoo

Instead of goats, rabbits, sheep and hens, the Long and McQuade Instrument Petting Zoo includes horns, trumpets, drums, keyboards and guitars. With professional supervision aspiring musicians can play, play, play!

Mad Hatter Tea Party

Take a journey down the rabbit hole with Orbital Talent’s Mad Hatter Tea Party! Interact with vivid large strolling puppets, be wowed by a Stilt-walking Mad Hatter, be on your best behaviour for Queen of Hearts & grab a cup of tea with Alice. The Orbital Talent Ensemble includes puppets by Ottawa’s own Eccentric Adam and some of Ottawa’s most dynamic actors and variety artists.

Great-West Life OAG Art Tent

The Great-West Life OAG Art Tent is a mobile art studio that travels to festivals and community events in the warmer months. This tent is sure to amuse and perplex kids and adults alike:  we’ll explore the art and science of optical illusions with playful activities and fun take home projects! The art tent provides a fun, free and bilingual space for kids of all ages to explore their creativity.
