Cycling:

If you plan to bike as a group, please let us know ahead of time and we will arrange for an area where your bikes can be locked. Here is a detailed explanation of how to cycle from the RA Centre to LeBreton Flats. Some of the info found here might be useful.

School Bus:

Most groups (ex. schools, daycares) will likely arrive via school bus.  We’ll be ready!

  • The school bus drop off and pick up is right in front of the Canadian War Museum.
  • A Festival greeter will meet your school bus and bring your Festival package to you upon arrival.
  • School buses are not permitted to wait in front of the Canadian War Museum. The bus company should find an alternate waiting area.

School Bus Waiting Area/Parking:

Please send the bus company information on the Festival location ahead of time. If they are to wait for your return please let them know they cannot wait in front of the Canadian War Museum but should locate a suitable waiting area close by. They can refer to the Ottawa Tourism site for options for waiting areas but they are on a first come, first served basis:

The City of Ottawa also provides information on tour bus waiting areas and parking (scroll down for “Motorhome and tour bus parking”):

Free tour bus parking is available at the following locations:

  • LeBreton Flats and Commissioner Street: 3-hour max
  • LeBreton Flats and Fleet Street: 3-hour max
  • Robert Guertin Center, 125 De Carillon Street, Gatineau, QC: Daily from 7 am to 5 pm

NOTE:

Key school staff attending the Festival should exchange cell phone numbers with the bus drivers. Additionally, the bus driver should have the main number for the school. Taking the time to phone the bus company directly, and speak with the group dispatch coordinator, will help your trip run smoothly.
